DAY 01. BKK/PBH – THIMPHU
The flight into Paro on our national carrier, Druk Air, is a befitting introduction to the spectacular beauty of our country. In clear weather, magnificent views of the world’s highest peaks, give way to the lush green Paro valley as you land. Your Bhutanese escort from Authentic Bhutan Tours will greet you on arrival, and then drive you to the Paro Rimpung Dzong, the centre of civil and religious authority in this region. After this we will have lunch in the Paro town. Then we will drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The drive will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Dinner and over night stay in the hotel, Thimphu.
DAY 02. THIMPHU – BUMTHANG
Today we will drive to Bumthang. The drive will take about 9hours drive, through the forest of rhododendron and semi tropical forest. We will be passing by the two pass Dochula pass (3150m) and the Yutongla pass (3400m). At Docula we can see the eastern Hiamalyas mountain ranges on clear days.
Lunch at Chendbji Resturant. After lunch we will continue our journey to Bumthang.
Dinner and over night stay in hotel, Bumthang.
DAY 03. BUMTHANG HALT
Enjoy the Nimalung festival.
Lunch picnic lunch. After lunch continue witnessing the festival. At around 3PM, we will do some sight seeing in Bumthang – like visit to Jambay Lhakhang and Tamshing Lhakhang.
Dinner and over night stay in hotel, Bumthang.
DAY 04. BUMTHANG HALT
Enjoy by witnessing the Nimalung festival.
Lunch picnic pack lunch. After lunch we will do remaining sightseeing in Bhumthang. Visit to Meber Tsho (Burning Lake), Jakar dzong and the Chamkhar Valley.
Dinner and over night stay in Bumthang.
DAY 05. BUMTHANG – GANGTAY, PHOBJIKHA
After witnessing the Thongdrel (Liberation at sight) ceremony at Kurjey Lhakhang, we will drive to Gangatay, Phobjikha.
Lunch picnic pack lunch/at local restaurant. After lunch we will continue our journey to Gangtay, Phobjikha.
Dinner and over night stay in Gangtay, Phobjikha.
DAY 06. GANGTAY – PUNAKHA
After walking around the Phobjikha valley, it is a glacial valley and is the winter home of the black necked cranes. This valley is a designated conservation area and borders Black Mountain National Park. We will drive to Punakha.
Lunch we will have at Wangdue Phodrang. On reaching Wangdue Phodrang, we will visit Wangdue dzong which was built by Lama Zhabdrung in 1638. After our lunch we will visit Chhimi Lhakhang, which is located at a hilltop. We have to walk about 25minutes form the road point. The temple is also known as the temple of fertility.

DAY 07. PUNAKHA – THIMPHU
After our breakfast, we will drive to the viewpoint of Khamsum Yule Namgyel Chorten for our photographs. Then we will visit the Punakha Dzong, it was the winter capital of Bhutan until 1955 when the capital was permanently shifted to Thimphu. It still served as the winter resident for the centre monk body. After visiting the dzong, we will drive to Thimphu.
Lunch at dochula cafeteria. After lunch we will continue our journey to Thimphu.
Dinner and over night stay in hotel, Thimphu.
DAY 08. THIMPHU HALT
The day begins with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten built in honor of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck and the Drupthop Lhakhang one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan. We then drive to the view point of Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan). For your photograph and Folk Heritage museum.
Lunch will be served in the town. After lunch we will be visiting the weaving factory and finally visit the Handicrafts Emporium and shopping for souvenirs in the shops of Thimphu.
Evening at leisure.

DAY 9. THIMPHU – PARO
After the breakfast, we will drive to Paro. On reaching Paro we will hike to the viewpoint of Taktshang, (Tiger’s Nest) monastery. We have to walk about 1hours & 30minutes up steep from the road end. The trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of the trees festooned with Spanish moss, and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags. After enjoying the view & photographs and lunch we will walk back. On our way back we will visit the one of the oldest temple in Bhutan, Kyichu Lhakhang and then stroll around the Paro town.

DAY 10. PARO – AIRPORT
Today we will drive to Paro international Airport to catch the flight to your next destination. Our guide and driver will bid you farewell and we wish you a safe and pleasant journey back home and hope to see you again in Bhutan.
